Softball Preview

Forest Hill is not known for their Softball program, but they are well known for their spirit and positive attitudes throughout the season. This year we have had the best turn out in the four years I’ve attended Forest Hill. Even though the head coach Mrs. Reddington no longer coaches for the Lady Falcons we have the privilege of  last years assistant coach Ms. Hayden. In addition this years new assistant coach Mrs. Esopakis. Both have done a tremendous job at gathering enough girls join to create both, a JV and Varsity Softball team.
With enough players to have two teams, all athletes are able to have time to play instead of just being on a Varsity team. Where they aren’t able to have enough play time to improve their skills. Hopefully with all of the hard work and dedication everyone’s been putting into practice each day, this will be the season that we get will get more than five wins.
Even though we have lost players, we have also gained players who have been able to step into the role of the spots needed to be filled. For example, we have Megan Babiajko who pitches, Jenny Pavon who normally plays center field but might end up playing short if things don’t go as planned. And others not listed, have also stepped into unfamiliar territory to be team players.
Even though the season is just blooming, we are all excited to see what lies ahead for the 2010 season. Be sure to come out and see all our hard work and dedication at Mary Brandon. Keep posted for game times and scores.
